Please note: This page is no longer being updated and is for information only. It relates to the now adopted Joint Core Strategy.

Gloucester City Council, Cheltenham Borough Council and Tewkesbury Borough Council are preparing a joint Comparative Site Assessment (CSA) as part of the evidence base for the Joint Core Strategy (JCS). The CSA will assess possible development sites across the JCS area for their potential to provide land for uses other than housing.

Sites submitted for consideration within the CSA study needed to be:

  • Over 0.5 hectares in size.

  • Within the authorities of Gloucester, Cheltenham or Tewkesbury.

The deadline for submitted sites was Friday 3rd December and this Comparative Site Assessment is now closed.

Please note that if you have, however, already submitted a site to the previous Cheltenham CSA study undertaken in 2009 then there is no need to resubmit your information to this process, as it will automatically be included in this new study.

With regards to housing sites, the Councils have already undertaken a study into possible housing sites and invited people to submit their information previously through a study called a Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA). However if you consider that any site you have submitted to the previous SHLAA process may have the potential to be used for alternative uses to housing then please let us know through this process.
